A final Permanent Change of Station (PCS) Order

It is with heavy hearts and deep respect that we announce Marine Jack Boland  has received his final PCS orders and has reported to his final duty station.

Born in Newark, New Jersey, in 1938, Jack answered the call to serve his country when he entered the United States Marine Corps in October 1956. During his six years of honorable service, Jack served as a Draftsman, in Athens GA. He brought the precision, discipline, and attention to detail expected of a Marine.

Following his Marine Corps service, Jack continued a life dedicated to serving others. He entered law enforcement, where he spent an impressive 34 years protecting and serving his community. Though his uniform changed, the values he carried from the Marine Corps—duty, honor, commitment, and service—remained with him throughout his life.

Jack and his wife Maggie, moved to The Villages in 2009, where he became part of our community and, importantly, part of our Marine Corps League family. To those who knew him, Jack was more than a fellow Marine. He was a friend, a brother, and a reminder that the bonds formed through service can last a lifetime.

Jack leaves behind his beloved wife, Maggie, his daughters Elizabeth, Jeanne, and Judy, and his four grandchildren, Julia, Eric, Ceci, and Sydney. They will carry his memory forward, along with the many friends, fellow Marines, and members of the community whose lives he touched.

Jack has now completed his final tour of duty. His earthly mission is complete, but his legacy of service, family, friendship, and devotion to others will remain with all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rest easy, Marine. You have answered your final orders and completed your last mission,

We, your fellow Marines, will stand the watch from here.
