The Iraq and Afghanistan War Memorial of Florida will be dedicated at Noon, on 20 April 2024, in the City of Port Saint Lucie, FL, (the Veterans Memorial Park). This monument will honor Floridians who served in our nation's wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the 349 who made the ultimate sacrifice, (FL listed as home of record at time of death). This listing of names will include 77 Marines, (inscribed on the backside of the monument).
Request that you forward the attached invitation to all of your Detachments in Florida. We'd like to see 77 Marine Corps league members at the dedication in their red blazers. I think that would be appropriate. I think this could be a nice day trip for some of your detachments, maybe they can charter a bus or rent a van. Again, we'd like to see a large number of red jacketed MCL members at the dedication, minimum of 77, one for each name of a Marine that will be inscribed on the monument.
Our Gold Star Mothers are expecting a good turn-out from all Veterans organizations, (Marine Corps League included), so don't let them down.
