An important message from T4T Coordinator Moose:
The warehouse will be closed on Thursday, November 8 The warehouse will be open again on Friday November 9 beginning at 8:30 and hopefully every day.
Warehouse will be opened Monday through Friday up until distribution week.
According to the shipper, we can expect our toy shipment between 12 and 2 on Friday. For this we will need extra bodies to help with the sorting, inventory checking, and storing in the shipping container. 5 to 6 extra bodies would be helpful as we hope to continue shopping and bag handle at the same time inside the warehouse.
Up until this day we have been trying to do the job with a very small work force, usually just 2-3 shoppers and an equal number of bag handlers. If this trend continues we will be hard pressed to get the job done in time for distribution. I am asking all members of the detachment and those outside the detachment who have helped in the past to please try to give us some time to keep our Toys for Tots program functioning the way it always has. It is one of the things we Marines will always take pride in, getting the job done right.
Finally, delivery of toys from our collection boxes to the warehouse has been slow at best. We rely on these deliveries to fill in the voids from our toy shipments and shopping sprees, especially for our stocking stuffers. If all you who collect from the boxes are finding that donations are down from previous years I would like you to tell me so we can make adjustments to our expectations and procedures.
