Beginning April 20, 2022, the TRICARE Pharmacy Program now covers Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs) as part of the pharmacy benefit.
The two CGMs available under the pharmacy benefit include the Abbott Freestyle Libre 2 and Dexcom G6.
These CGMs will be available through all pharmacy points of service. This includes some military pharmacies, TRICARE retail network pharmacies, and TRICARE Pharmacy Home Delivery. (Note: The Abbott Freestyle Libre 2 reader must be ordered via the free service, the Department of Defense Reader Program, if the beneficiary chooses home delivery. The Abbott Freestyle Libre 2 reader can also be picked up at a network pharmacy. All Dexcom G6 components can be ordered through TRICARE Pharmacy Home Delivery and are also available for pick up at a retail pharmacy.)
