Members,It is with sadness that I report that Chief Devil Dog Jeffrey Jones has passed away this morning, 11/1/2025. Please keep his family in your prayers. Presently, no further information to pass at this time. Will inform when I have more to pass.

It is with profound sadness that I must announce the sudden passing of our Honorable 61st Chief Devil Dog, PDD J.D. Jones, at his home in NC, on November 1st, 2025.
The Honorable 61st Chief Devil Dog served our Order and the Marine Corps League with unwavering dedication and leadership that inspired all who had the privilege to know him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of Marine Corps League Members and Dogs of the Order.
At the request of his wife, Leigh Ann, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Operation ChowHound in the Chief’s honor. (Please see the link below.)
I would also ask that members of the Order and MCL lower their flags to half-staff until November 16th, 2025, in remembrance of our departed Chief.
As memorial arrangements and additional details become available, they will be shared by me through official channels — including social media, MODD & MCL websites, and an email to members.
Please keep Leigh Ann and Jeff’s family in your prayers during this difficult time.

Kennel Board of Trustees Update
Following the recent passing of our Honorable 61st Chief Devil Dog, JD Jones, the Kennel Board of Trustees has reorganized in accordance with the procedures of the Military Order of the Devil Dogs.
Effective immediately, PDD Joe DeAngelo will serve as the Honorable 62nd Chief Devil Dog.

My friend and brother that died unexpectedly today was in the senior leadership position of the Marine Corps League honorary society known as the “Military Order of the Devil Dogs” . I thank them for such a touching tribute.

Yesterday I told you all about my friend and Marine Corps veteran brother, who passed away unexpectedly.
He had a great dog named Pappy. He walked that dog every day and he did a Facebook post every day with Pappy telling us about the weather and what happened on the walk
Well, he’s not here to walk Pappy anymore, but this is what the Marine Corps and our brotherhood is all about.
This is another one of our Marine Corps brothers who lived close to Pappy. As we all know the dog has no idea what happened to his dad.
So never leave a man behind another Marine veteran is walking him every day
This is why I love the Marines. One of the reasons I chose the Marines because of the camaraderie and the brotherhood.
My Sunday vibe I choose to remember and love those who step in when needed. God bless you, brother. 🇺🇸
