Attention To PCS Orders!

A final Permanent Change of Station (PCS) Order has been issued by:

The Supreme Commandant for:

Marine Robert "Bob" Beale,

effective:

January 24th, 2024.

Marine Robert, “Bob” Beale

Born October 4, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA

Died January 24, 2024 in The Villages, FL

His father and older brother were both Marines; Bob’s brother enlisted before Bob. Bob enlisted after graduating from High School in 1944. After boot camp, he was assigned to Seagoing school and reported to the Brooklyn Naval Yard as part of the Marine detachment on the USS Bennington CV 20. Bob became a “Plank” owner when the ship was commissioned. Bob saw action in the Pacific as a loader of an anti-aircraft gun off the shores of Iwo Jima. When the war ended, he went ashore in Japan as part of the security force.

After discharge from the Corps, he attended Temple University, where he played on the football team. He graduated with a teaching degree and married Kitty, his first wife. He was a high school principal in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Several years after Kitty’s death, Bob met Claudette Stauder on a cruise he went on with buddies from the Marine Corps League in Ft. Lauderdale. They moved to the Villages in 2007 and got married. Claudette predeceased Bob in 2022

Bob was a long-time member of the MCL and very active in the Intracoastal Det. He went on to serve in the Department and at National. Bob was a District 10 Vice Commandant, a Department adjutant for three commandants, an Aid de Camp for the Southeast Division, and a National Committee Chairman.

In 2012, then Department Commandant Lou Calleja bestowed Bob, with the overwhelming approval of the BOT and membership, the title “Honorary Past Department Commandant.”

Marine Bob Beale passed away on January 24, 2024, at the age of 98.
