"...Attached are two photos of our visit to the Lake Hills School yesterday in Howie-in-the Hills. The Col. Phillip C. Delong Detachment 1267 of the Marine Corps League located in The Villages presented a check for $10,000 to Dr. Robin Meyers, Principal of the school. A second check for $2,000 was also presented to Dr. Meyers from the Master Gunnery Sergeant Ralph Hoffman Military Order of the Devil Dogs Pound 335, also of The Villages. These funds are used to purchase electronic tablets loaded with special communications software to help the students express themselves, and also to purchase specialized equipment for their safety and comfort. This is one of the charitable programs the Col. Phillip C. Delong Detachment has supported and contributed to for the past 17 years to help improve the quality of life for these severely, intellectually challenged students up to 22 years of age. ..."
