Cmdt Ward served with distinction as Detachment 1267’s SVC for two years and stepped seamlessly into the role of Commandant as voted upon by the membership this past April. As a leader, Cmdt Ward has been at the forefront of many other activities. ► He directed the Toys for Tots campaign with great success. ► He was instrumental in procuring ownership of 1267’s box truck at a bargain price, thereby saving thousands of dollars in truck rental fees for both now and the future. ► He coordinated with Mark Rhodes for the truck’s special wrap, giving the Detachment significant exposure and recognition as a moving billboard.
► He has consistently been present for R.E.D. shirt events and has contributed much to the success of the program, assisting Bill Beck on numerous occasions. ► He was one-half of the driving force, along with Lee Radford, behind the combined Marine Corps Ball, birthday celebration, and Slop Chute event at the Wildwood Community Center last November. ► He participated in the Moonlight Golf event to support the Leadership Scholarship Program. ► He attended the June DOF Annual Convention and completed the Professional Development Program course. ► He has presided at a number of funerals since his election as Commandant. ► He has cultivated very charitable relationships with Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services and Golf Central, both of which are significant contributors to the annual Toys for Tots Golf Classic. Cmdt Ward has shown dedication in his Detachment duties and has exhibited a high degree of professionalism personally, to the Marine Corps League, and to the community in general.
